With three distinct film sets,two thousand acres of widely varied landscape and majestic vistas that reach out to the foothills and Rocky Mountains beyond, Bow River Ranch is one of a kind. Located only minutes west of downtown,the ranch includes a 60 acre western town that was home to "Sweetwater" in the Lonesome Dove series.The originl barn built in 1895 still stands on the site and houses a sawmill set. The western town combines original buildings from the 1890's,recently built facades and a custom crafted old west saloon used in numerous major films and music videos,but probably best known for the bar scenes in the Jackie Chan,Owen Wilson feature, "Shanghai Noon". Wander down the rutted dirt road leading to the river and you'll find yourself in a mining town straight out of 1897 that was built for "Broken Trail",the Emmy award winning miniseries directed by Walter Hill and starring Robert Duvall.The canvas roofed buildings,elevated boardwalks and shabby boarding houses will make you feel you should be on horseback with a saddlebag full of gold. The river location has diverse areas of aspen groves,acres of towering cottonwood, and a lush,dark coniferous forest perfect for filming wildlife.This location also has a small sugar shack and a large trappers cabin. Boasting diverse natural and man-made locations, an extensive inventory of props and the experience of numerous productions, Bow River Ranch could be the answer to your next film,tv series,commercial,fashion,shoot or music video.
